New website!

I absolutely detest AltairCMS, it's just so cliché. Take a stab at creating your own website! All it takes is basic knowledge of CSS and HTML. PHP elements such as voting and registering can be copypasta'd from Altair. It'll really help with reeling in players who click on the GTOP 100 banner, only to find a bland, basically blue website with no originality. Personally when I first entered the site, I was ready to leave. The only reason I didn't was because a couple of nice people happened to be in the xat chat. The website is like a first impression, put some effort into it!

Here's a little thing I put together in no time at all. You might need to right click on them and click view image to see the whole image. And you should imagine that the second picture is connected to the bottom of the first picture to get an idea of the whole page

It's actually pretty easy and there is no need for html editing. All you need is another cms, and a portal if wanted.

There is a need for HTML editing in order to add pictures as well as that image slider I happened to put at the top. It's also needed to make some elements compatible and aesthetic across all browsers. Using a CMS that someone else made and releases on (most likely) RageZone is pretty much the equivalent of saying, "I'm too lazy to take the effort to make an interesting and original website for my server", no offense to the owners. All I'm saying is that a crappy site that you make yourself is better than a crappy CMS you leech off someone else.
Also my thoughts on a portal page: it's fancy and would have been nice had it been 2010, but portal pages are growing more and more common across MapleStory private servers and is, quite honestly, annoying, unnecessary, and over done.

1) A cms was made for maplestory private servers and connects with your wamp. That is how it was built into the server's system.

2) Portal pages can be taken as from different perspectives, but some actually do have good design.

3) When explaining cms, it doesn't need any html. When creating a website, the html editing used to insert a picture is not difficult. In fact, all it is is inserting the image in the code, then adding in how large you want it. (<IMG SRC="image.gif" ALT="some text" WIDTH=32 HEIGHT=32>)

My suggestion and clarification was strictly based on facts, not to get into any arguments. I feel that a cms for now, would be alright. But when it does come to creating a unique website, fire away.

Sure, using a CMS is fine. I suppose just the CSS can overhauled so it doesn't look so freakin' ugly and depressing lol.
